<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The numbers tell a compelling story: UK-Cambodia bilateral trade exceeded&nbsp;<strong>US$1 billion in 2025</strong>, marking a 16% increase from the previous year&nbsp;<a href="https://cc-times.com/posts/27331" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a href="https://pressocm.gov.kh/en/archives/119725" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>. This milestone reflects the strength and resilience of the economic partnership between the two nations.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2025 Trade Performance at a Glance</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the first nine months of 2025 alone, bilateral trade reached **US$824 million**, up 4.92% from the same period in 2024&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kampucheathmey.com/kpt-english/1013200" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>. Cambodian exports to the UK—primarily garments, footwear, and bicycles—accounted for US$786 million, a 5.35% year-on-year increase&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kampucheathmey.com/kpt-english/1013200" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For the full year 2024, Cambodia exported US$958.75 million worth of goods to the UK, while imports from the UK stood at US$53.7 million&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kampucheathmey.com/kpt-english/1013200" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a href="https://cc-times.com/posts/27331" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>. The UK ranks among Cambodia&#8217;s top ten trading partners, preceded only by major economies such as China, the US, Vietnam, and Thailand&nbsp;<a href="https://www.phnompenhpost.com/business/uks-dcts-boosts-trade-growth-prospects" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">First Half of 2026: Momentum Continues</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Latest figures for the first half of 2026 show bilateral trade reaching **US$507 million**, with Cambodian exports to the UK at US$378.99 million during the January-April period alone&nbsp;<a href="https://www.khmertimeskh.com/501944856/cambodia-prepares-for-4th-jtif-to-boost-uk-market-access/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a href="https://www.akp.gov.kh/post/detail/372676" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>. While exports saw a slight decline of 3.8% in early 2026, imports from the UK rose 7.7%, indicating growing British commercial presence in Cambodia&nbsp;<a href="https://www.akp.gov.kh/post/detail/372676" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What&#8217;s Driving This Growth?</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The UK&#8217;s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) remains the key driver. Cambodia benefits from duty-free and quota-free access to the UK market on over 99% of goods, a preferential arrangement now extended until&nbsp;<strong>2032</strong>—well beyond the country&#8217;s scheduled graduation from Least Developed Country status in 2029&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kampucheathmey.com/kpt-english/1013200" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a href="https://cc-times.com/posts/27331" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>. This long-term predictability gives businesses on both sides the confidence to invest and scale.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Road Ahead</h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the fourth Joint Trade and Investment Forum (JTIF) on the horizon, both governments are working to translate this momentum into even greater commercial outcomes. The UK is also supporting Cambodia&#8217;s ambitions to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which would further integrate Cambodia into regional and global supply chains&nbsp;<a href="https://pressocm.gov.kh/en/archives/119725" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a href="https://en.kampucheathmey.com/economy/1112879/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>
