For the full year 2024, Cambodia exported US$958.75 million worth of goods to the UK, while imports from the UK stood at US$53.7 million . The UK ranks among Cambodia’s top ten trading partners, preceded only by major economies such as China, the US, Vietnam, and Thailand .

First Half of 2026: Momentum Continues

Latest figures for the first half of 2026 show bilateral trade reaching **US$507 million**, with Cambodian exports to the UK at US$378.99 million during the January-April period alone . While exports saw a slight decline of 3.8% in early 2026, imports from the UK rose 7.7%, indicating growing British commercial presence in Cambodia .

What’s Driving This Growth?

The UK’s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) remains the key driver. Cambodia benefits from duty-free and quota-free access to the UK market on over 99% of goods, a preferential arrangement now extended until 2032—well beyond the country’s scheduled graduation from Least Developed Country status in 2029 . This long-term predictability gives businesses on both sides the confidence to invest and scale.

The Road Ahead

With the fourth Joint Trade and Investment Forum (JTIF) on the horizon, both governments are working to translate this momentum into even greater commercial outcomes. The UK is also supporting Cambodia’s ambitions to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), which would further integrate Cambodia into regional and global supply chains .
